Is philosophy forbidden in Islam, and what is the difference between it and Islamic thought?

Philosophy is the intellectual quest for the truths of things, but it has led to dangerous deviations when delving into beliefs and subjecting them to the intellect's judgment. For this reason, the Salaf warned against it. It is not permissible to engage in philosophy except for someone who intends to clarify its misguidedness, with extreme caution and proficiency in the Islamic sciences. The safest approach is to stay away from it. As for thought, it is the exercise of the mind concerning something. It becomes Islamic if it adheres to the Sharia, and non-Islamic if it contradicts it. Islamic thought is the product of thinking that adheres to Islamic foundations and controls.
