The answer

There is no Prophetic Hadith that prohibits eating food on top of food (i.e., before the previous meal has been digested), and this is closer to what physicians say. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, encouraged moderation in eating and drinking, saying: "(No human fills a vessel worse than his stomach. A few bites are sufficient for the son of Adam to keep his back straight. But if he must eat more, then one-third for his food, one-third for his drink, and one-third for his breath)." Ibn al-Qayyim mentioned that a full stomach is harmful to the heart and body and causes laziness in performing acts of worship. Al-Harith ibn Kaladah said: "Eating food on top of food before digestion" destroys a person.
