Yellowish and brownish discharges connected to blood are considered menstruation. However, if the duration of the blood and these connected discharges exceeds fifteen days, the woman is considered to have prolonged vaginal bleeding (istiḥāḍah), and she must perform what a woman with istiḥāḍah performs.
