If the children and their mother built the house with their own money, the father does not have the right to sell it. He retains the right to claim his share of his deceased wife's inheritance and the right to reside in the house. If the children are in need of the house, they should gently ask their father not to sell it and remind him of the hadith, "It is sufficient sin for a person to neglect those whom he is responsible to support."
