What is the ruling on fasting for a diabetic, of the second type, whose condition is negatively affected by fasting, whether taking medication or not?

If fasting does not cause a considerable harm, according to Sharia (definition), then the questioner must fast and is not permitted to break it, while following the doctors' advice to alleviate the suffering. However, if trustworthy doctors determine that fasting would harm him, then he is permitted to break it and must make up for it later, based on the Almighty's saying: "But whoever among you is ill or on a journey [during them] - then [he must fast] an equal number of other days."
