Is it permissible to deal with a شيخ (sheikh) who claims to heal with the Qur’an but requests the use of specific papers and incense, recommends an amulet (hijab) to be wrapped in flour and a white cloth and tied with a red string, and claims to extract magic from water?

The person who performs calculations about your name, determines a specific number of cups, throws some of them in a certain place, uses a paper he claims contains Qur'an but nothing is visible on it, orders you to wrap the paper in flour then in a white cloth and tie it with a red string, and asks patients to bring a pot containing water and henna for him to recite over, then asks them to insert their hands to pull out things—all these matters indicate that he is a sorcerer, a charlatan, or a soothsayer who relies on jinn and devils. Therefore, it is not permissible to go to him, believe him, or obey him.
