The father has duties towards his family, including care, looking after their affairs, and solving problems, and he sins by neglecting them. If the reason for the father's abandonment of the home relates to the wife, then she must rectify that. As for the children, there is no sin upon them in this regard, and they must obey, honor, and be good to the father, maintaining ties with him, smiling in his face, and inquiring about his well-being, unless they fear being complicit in the reason for his leaving the home.
