Is it considered that one who intended to repent after a month and died before that time came, died in a state of sin or upon his intention?

He who intends to repent after some time is not considered a penitent until he actually repents, because he has not yet begun the repentance nor abandoned what Allah has forbidden. He remains persistent in his sin, and this contradicts repentance, which means immediately ceasing the sin. Moreover, repentance is obligatory immediately, and delaying it is another sin, from which one must also repent. As for whoever dies before repenting, his matter is with Allah Almighty.
