What is the ruling on the imamate of an imam who willingly and contentedly surrendered authority in his home to his wife?
If the Imam performs the actions of the prayer correctly, fulfilling its pillars, conditions, and obligations, then prayer behind him is undoubtedly valid. Prayer behind any Muslim is valid, even if he is a transgressor (fasiq), and this is the view of the general body of scholars. What was mentioned does not necessitate declaring him a fasiq, nor does it prevent praying behind him. Our advice to those who object to him is to refrain from delving into matters that do not concern them, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Among the excellence of a person's Islam is his leaving what does not concern him."
