How do I know that God is pleased with me and has forgiven me, and is it permissible to stay up late awaiting the Fajr prayer for fear of missing it?

Signs of Allah’s love for a servant are manifested in His drawing him near, making acts of obedience beloved to him and sins detestable to him, diverting distractions away from him, taking charge of his affairs by facilitating them without humiliation, treating him gently, granting him acceptance on Earth, afflicting him with trials commensurate with his faith, and guiding him to perform righteous deeds before his death.
