Is it permissible for a man to marry a girl who was breastfed by his deceased wife for one day while she was an infant?

The fosterage that establishes prohibition consists of five known sucklings within two years, meaning the child latches onto the breast and suckles, then leaves it of his own accord. If it is established that the deceased woman suckled the girl in this manner, she becomes her foster mother.

Regarding the man's relation to the girl: 1. If the man is the source of the milk (i.e., the foster father), the girl is forbidden to him because she is his foster daughter. 2. If the man was a former husband (of the foster mother), the girl becomes his stepdaughter (rabībah), and it is forbidden for him to marry her if he consummated the marriage with her mother. This ruling also includes the foster daughters of his wife.

The testimony of one woman is sufficient to prove fosterage.
