Is it permissible, in Islamic law, to refrain from procreation for fear of giving birth to a child afflicted with a hereditary disease, especially given the presence of other children in the family who suffer from the disease?

If it is highly probable that a child will be born with a deformity, there is no harm in using a birth control method, such as coitus interruptus (azl), condoms, birth control pills, or similar methods, as long as it does not involve the permanent removal of the reproductive organs.
