If a young man is competent and pleasing in his religion and character, then the guardian should not reject him, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "If someone whose religion and character you approve comes to you proposing marriage, then marry him. If you do not do so, there will be tribulation on earth and widespread corruption." The girl must prioritize religion and character when choosing a husband, take her father's opinion into account, and repeat the prayer.
