Is it permissible to remain at home after completing studies and before the end of the scholarship period and the issuance of graduation documents, and is the salary received during this period considered unlawful gain?

The sponsoring entity must be informed of the completion of studies before the scheduled date and the need for time to finalize graduation paperwork. If they permit the stay, then that is acceptable. Otherwise, their decision must be adhered to, and betrayal is forbidden. In the event of non-compliance, they must be informed of the period spent at home, and they have the option to deduct the corresponding amount from the salary. Honesty with them is obligatory, and lying and cheating are forbidden, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever cheats is not of me."
