Is it permissible to eat from the slaughtered animals distributed by neighbors during Ashura and Arba'een al-Hussein, when their intention is "slaughtering for the sake of Allah and the reward for Hussein," knowing that there is an opinion stating the impermissibility of giving charity as a "reward for Hussein" and thus the impermissibility of taking or eating it?

We clarified the ruling on celebrating this day and preparing food on it in Fatwa no. 33510. As for accepting food from those distributing it on this day, it was previously explained in Fatwa no. 55851. Regarding the people of the household not being permitted to receive charity, what is meant is that it is not permissible for them to accept it during their lifetime. However, as for dedicating the reward of charity to them after their death, they are like anyone else in that regard.
