How can one deal with a father who is over fifty, nervous, difficult to handle, and wishes to marry despite having a stable family and highly accomplished children, while his mother did not live happily with him, and he was stingy and fond of women's gatherings?

The rights of parents are immense, and Allah has enjoined kindness, benevolence, and obedience to them, as long as it does not involve disobedience [to Allah], even if they are polytheists. Children must treat a difficult or stubborn parent with gentleness and leniency, seeking help from those they trust to persuade the parent of what is in their best interest. A father has the right to marry more than one wife if he is capable of bearing the marital responsibilities, and children should assist him in this and avoid being a cause of conflict between him and their mother. Filial piety is one of the most emphasized obligations and greatest duties after believing in the Oneness of Allah and worshipping Him. Their mistakes should be addressed calmly, gently, and leniently, without ill-treating them.
