What is the ruling on one who says that Allah is in every place, and is this statement correct?

A Muslim must believe that Allah is above His Throne, above His heavens, distinct from His creation, and that He is the Most High, above all His creatures. This is indicated by the texts of the Qur’an and Sunnah, and the consensus of the Companions and the Successors, such as His saying, the Most High: (Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High) and (Then He rose over the Throne), and prophetic traditions that indicate His exaltedness, such as the hadith of the slave girl: “Where is Allah?” She said: “In the heaven.”

If the saying that Allah is everywhere intends His essence, then it is false and disbelief, for it affirms indwelling. However, if it intends His knowledge, then this is true. It must be explicitly stated that Allah is distinct from His creation and rose over His Throne, so as not to imply indwelling. This is what was authentically reported from Imam Malik and others.
