Is it permissible to listen to songs, the Quran, or recite poetry during sexual intercourse?

It is impermissible to listen to unlawful singing that includes musical instruments and diversion in all circumstances, according to scholarly consensus. There is no harm in reciting romantic poetry to one's wife. As for listening to the Quran during intercourse, there is no objection to it, but it is preferable to devote oneself to listening to it and pondering its meanings, due to the Almighty’s saying: "And when the Quran is recited, then listen to it and pay attention that you may receive mercy." Therefore, if a person is preoccupied and not attentive, it is better to postpone listening.
