Dish receivers and televisions are permissible for those who can control them. However, the dish receiver specifically for Al-Majd channel is the only one free from forbidden channels. It is permissible for the wife to ask her husband for this type. As for other dish receivers, it is not permissible to acquire them unless one is certain of their ability to refrain from using them except for good and permissible purposes. If a person knows themselves to be weak, it is not permissible for them to acquire them. The wife is advised to substitute the television with a cassette player and a radio if her husband's conduct in this matter is not trustworthy.
