What is the ruling on a husband remaining with his wife after her apostasy from Islam to Christianity, and what is the effect of that on their daughters? Does the ruling differ if she lives in Europe?

If a woman is not convinced by the Muslim belief concerning Jesus (peace be upon him), then this is a denial of the Qur’an, an act of disbelief (kufr), and apostasy from Islam. She must be advised and reminded of the truth. If she insists on her denial, then she is an apostate, and it is not permissible to live with her. If she repents during her 'iddah (waiting period), she returns to him with their original marriage contract. She does not have the right to custody of the two daughters as long as she is an apostate. Efforts must be made to take them from her so that their religion is not corrupted, for a child follows the better of the two parents in religion.
