What is the interpretation of the successive tribulations and problems I face in my personal and professional life, despite my keenness to please Allah and my parents, and what is the reason for my recurring psychological and physical suffering?
Trials and calamities are expiations for sins and elevations in rank, and glad tidings for the patient, who, when afflicted by a calamity, say: "Indeed, we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return." These calamities may be a punishment, or an expiation for sins, or an elevation in rank, or a purification, or due to the injustice of others, and they indicate Allah's desire for good for His servant. Dealing with them involves patience, reliance on Allah, abundant supplication, recitation of the Quran, (legal incantation), repentance and seeking forgiveness, sending blessings upon the Prophet, steadfastness in obedience to Allah, and piety, for that is the key to relief.
