What is the ruling concerning the dry threads and granules (brown, yellow, light red, and black), and the small dry balls (red with white, or black with white) that continue to descend after the first seven days of menstruation, making the total days of blood, discolored discharge, and intermittent discharge approximately fifteen days?

Black is one of the colors of blood, and it is menstruation, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Menstrual blood is black and thick." If a woman sees yellowness connected to blood, or brownish discharge connected to it, or a black color, all of that is considered menstruation as long as it stops within fifteen days or less.

If the blood and what is connected to it of yellowness or brownish discharge continues beyond fifteen days, it is irregular bleeding (istihada).

If she sees purity through dryness, then yellowness returns, it is not considered menstruation, and the intervening purity is a valid purity.
