ما الدليل الشرعي على أن التصوف بدعة؟
Al-Tirmidhi narrated a hadith which Al-Albani graded as hasan (good), in which the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "What befell the Children of Israel will surely befall my Ummah, step by step, exactly like one sandal matches the other... And indeed, the Children of Israel split into seventy-two sects, and my Ummah will split into seventy-three sects, all of them in the Fire except one sect." He (the narrator) asked: "And which one is it, O Messenger of Allah?" He replied: "What I and my companions are upon." This hadith clarifies that all sects of the Ummah are deviant and innovative, except for one sect that adheres to the guidance of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and his companions. The criterion is conformity to the Sunnah. Whoever adheres to it is a follower, and whoever deviates from it is an innovator. Many Sufis today violate the Sunnah and introduce matters that were not known during the time of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and his companions.
