Is it permissible for a woman to put henna on the palm of her hand on her wedding night if this is a common custom?

Dyeing with henna is desirable for women and permissible for men if it is for treatment. However, if it is for purposes other than treatment, it constitutes imitation of women, and "the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, cursed men who imitate women and women who imitate men." The use of henna is not permissible on the pretext that it is a common practice, because the prevalence of a custom that contradicts Allah's law is invalid.
