Is it permissible to copy drawings offered for sale for personal use?

The forbidden aspect regarding the infringement of the rights of the image owner is the copying of the image itself. However, drawing a similar image does not constitute infringement. Nevertheless, it is preferable to avoid that from a standpoint of piety, based on the hadith: "Leave what makes you doubt for what does not make you doubt."
