How do we act in accordance with the meaning of Allah's Most Beautiful Name: "The First"?

"The First" is one of Allah's Beautiful Names, meaning that there is nothing before Him, as stated in the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet. Acting in accordance with this Name entails recognizing the precedence of Allah's grace and mercy, having good expectations of Him, resorting to Him, and the servant acknowledging his poverty and need for Him. The servitude to the Name "The First" requires detachment from means and focusing on the precedence of His grace, for He is the initiator of benevolence. This servitude necessitates a special kind of poverty and a special servitude. Furthermore, "The First" is He from whom all creatures originated, and He is "The Last" to whom their servitude, will, and love ultimately return, so nothing is intended, worshipped, or deified besides Him. Among the most important actions to be performed in accordance with His Beautiful Names is to supplicate with them and seek intercession through them.
