The question

Was it the divine decree and destiny that caused the death of my infant son, who suffered severe harm at birth, or was it envy and the evil eye? And how can I claim my right and my son's right from the envious person? And will Allah Almighty hold the envious person accountable?

The answer

We ask God to improve your solace regarding your son and to make him an intercessor for you. We bring you good tidings from the Hadith of Tirmidhi, narrated by Abu Musa Al-Ash'ari, that for anyone who praises God and says "To God we belong and to Him we shall return" upon the death of their child, God will build for them a house in Paradise called "The House of Praise." The evil-eyed person is an oppressor and an aggressor if they harm others. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, described their action as "killing," as happened with Amir ibn Rabi'ah and Sahl ibn Hunaif. If the evil-eyed person inflicts harm and their victim does not forgive them, then God may exact retribution from them on the Day of Judgment, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, explained in the Hadith of the Bankrupt.
