Is it permissible for a woman to donate her hair to make wigs for children with cancer and burns?
Source: FtawySummary from Ftawy's records · added here Sep 2, 2026
It is not permissible to sell human hair because it is a part of the human being and is honored. As for donating it to make a wig, it is permissible if it is to correct a defect such as burns or baldness, and it is forbidden if it is for beautification and adornment. So, if the entities that request hair donations are trustworthy and use it for those who have suffered burns or baldness, then it is permissible to donate to them; otherwise, it is not permissible.
