The answer

The jurists have agreed on the obligation for a woman to make up for the days she missed in Ramadan due to menstruation or postpartum bleeding. It is recommended to make up these days promptly and consecutively, though it is permissible to do so non-consecutively. If she delays making up the days without a valid excuse until the next Ramadan arrives, she is obligated to make them up and feed a poor person for each day, and this is the view of the majority of scholars. If the delay was due to an illness from which recovery is hoped, then only fasting is obligatory for her. However, if the illness is chronic and recovery is not hoped for, then fasting is waived, and feeding the poor becomes obligatory.
