What is the ruling on keeping gifts (inexpensive ones, such as a ring or a necklace), text and paper messages, and pictures of my deceased fiancé? Does doing so make me sinful or affect my fiancé? What deeds can I do to seek forgiveness for my fiancé's sins and ensure he receives the reward? What ongoing charities (Sadaqah Jariyah) can I dedicate to him? And how can Allah unite me with him in Paradise?

We ask Allah the Almighty to forgive this young man and have mercy on him, and to comfort you. You must hasten to sincere repentance if you have committed a sin with him or with anyone else. We hope that this young man died in a state of goodness and among the martyrs if he died in a car accident. The deceased benefits from supplication, charity, seeking forgiveness, and other righteous deeds dedicated to him. There is no blame upon you for benefiting from the gifts that the young man gave you. You must delete messages and pictures that contain words of love. If a woman does not marry until she dies, Allah Almighty will marry her to one of the people of Paradise, and a woman should not abandon marriage for that reason. Marriage is subject to the Sharia rulings and may be obligatory.
