How can one deal with mutual feelings of admiration with a teacher who is afraid of commitment due to a past experience, while upholding religious and ethical values?
There are three matters that should be known: 1. It is permissible for a woman to offer herself for marriage to someone she believes to be good and righteous, and this should be done through one of her mahrams or one of the man's mahrams. 2. It is necessary to disregard the man and not become attached to him if he does not wish to marry, because love between non-mahrams is forbidden. 3. It is not permissible to be in seclusion with teachers or others, nor to speak to them in a soft, alluring manner, nor to display one's adornment before them.
It is advised to fear Allah and stay away from the whispers of Satan, for whoever fears Allah, He will provide a way out for him and sustain him from where he does not expect.
