Is an infidel who has embraced Islam obligated to pay the many expiations that were due from him before his conversion?

The oath of a disbeliever is binding, and he is obligated to offer expiation if he breaks it, contrary to the Hanafis who believe his oath is not binding. If a disbeliever breaks his oath, expiation is obligatory upon him through feeding or clothing, and fasting or freeing a slave is not sufficient for him unless he embraces Islam. If he embraces Islam, he expiates by what is then due upon him, whether it be freeing a slave, feeding, clothing, or fasting.
