If the capital of a Riba-based bank is originally from a lawful source, then it is lawful. However, its profits and interests gained from Riba and unlawful transactions are prohibited, as Allah Almighty says: "But if you repent, you may have your principal – [thus] you do no wrong, nor are you wronged."

As for Faysal Islamic Bank, it claims adherence to principles, and it cannot be called Riba-based as long as this is the case, even if some errors or violations occur.
