Does my husband have the right to dispose of and control my money, which I earn from working as a translator from home, and is it permissible for me to put my money in a joint savings account without his knowledge with the intention of help and charity, or must I inform him of this first?

Your honorable husband, who abstains from your private money and is keen on spending the full maintenance on you, and even exceeds that by being benevolent in spending on luxuries from his own money, and rejects any financial assistance from you, is an example of a husband who complies with Allah Almighty's command to treat (wives) with kindness and the Messenger's (peace be upon him) command to spend on his wife.

Our advice to you is to reciprocate this benevolence with benevolence, and do not despair of trying to assist him financially in different ways, such as transferring your money to his account without his knowledge, or buying what the husband or house needs, or buying him a valuable gift, or saving money to give to him when needed.

After helping your husband and putting what you can into the joint account and charity, you can keep the remaining money in your own private account, as you both may need it or your children may benefit from it.
