Is it permissible for someone to choose celibacy in this world and the hereafter, and does that contradict Allah’s saying: "And therein is whatever the souls desire" and the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) saying: "There will be no celibate in Paradise"?

There is no celibate person in Paradise, because marriage is among the enjoyments of the people of Paradise, and the people of Paradise will have whatever their souls desire, and no one will refuse marriage there. The reasons that might make a person not desire marriage in this world do not exist in Paradise:

1. Worries and preoccupations: These do not exist in Paradise.

2. Physical or psychological ailments: The people of Paradise do not suffer from illnesses; rather, they are given a strength that surpasses the strength of the people of this world.

3. The belief that marriage is a نقص (deficiency/imperfection): This is an ignorance from which the people of Paradise are far removed, for the desire for women and strength in that regard are among the praised human perfections, and the prophets used to marry.
