A kidney failure patient, if unable to fast, is permitted to break their fast. They should make up the days after their recovery. However, if their illness is not expected to be cured, they should feed one poor person for each day. Hemodialysis itself does not break the fast. However, receiving a nourishing glucose solution before, after, or during it is considered to break the fast. As for peritoneal dialysis, it does not affect the fast unless it is accompanied by the administration of glucose intravenously.
