Is a kidney failure patient who is continuously using a dialysis machine and has medication appointments during the day allowed to break their fast in Ramadan, or must they fast?

If fasting causes unusual hardship to a sick person, breaking the fast is permissible. If trustworthy doctors determine that abstaining from medication would harm the patient, then breaking the fast becomes obligatory. Whoever is expected to recover must make up the days they missed fasting. As for those whose illness is not expected to be cured, they must feed a poor person for each day, based on the Almighty's saying: "So whoever among you is ill or on a journey, then [let him fast] an equal number of other days. And upon those who are able [to fast, but with hardship] is a ransom: the feeding of a poor person." However, if one is able to fast without hardship or harm, then fasting is obligatory upon them.
