Does a husband wrong his wife by preventing her from spending the night at her family's home, limiting her to a visit every two weeks, and by forcing her to wear a niqab that covers her face and hands, knowing that she objects to it and is resentful towards him for wearing it?

According to the Hanbalis and Shafi'is, the husband may prevent his wife from visiting her family, and she is not permitted to leave without his permission. The Malikis hold that the wife has the right to visit her parents once a week if they live nearby. As for the Hanafis, she may leave without permission for a necessity, or to visit her family if she has not yet received her dower; otherwise, she is allowed a weekly visit to her parents. The husband should please his wife and allow her weekly visits, and she is forbidden from spending the night at her parents' house without his permission. The wife must cover her face and hands with the lawful hijab, and she must be convinced of its obligation and adhere to it for the sake of Allah, not for her husband.
