Is it permissible to name a newborn girl Hagar?

There is no objection to naming a child Hajar; in fact, it is one of the virtuous names with which Muslims should name their daughters. It was the name of our mother Hajar, the mother of Ismail (peace be upon them both). The people of knowledge have recommended naming children after the prophets and righteous people who came before us.
