Must a woman wear socks during prayer while she is in her home, knowing that her garment is long and reaches her ankles?

The feet of a free woman are considered awrah (private parts that must be covered) by the majority of jurists. Abu Hanifa, however, held that they are not awrah because they are usually exposed, thus differing from the majority regarding the feet. The majority of jurists stipulate that a woman must cover her entire body during prayer, except for her face and hands, and that her feet must also be covered during prayer. They based their ruling on the narration from Umm Salama (may Allah be pleased with her), who said: I asked, "O Messenger of Allah, can a woman pray in a dir (a long shirt) and a khimar (head covering) without an izar (a lower garment)?" He replied, "Yes, if it is ample and covers the tops of her feet." They also cited the hadith of Ibn Umar regarding women letting down their garments so that their feet are not exposed.
