What is the ruling on a husband using phrases like "I'll leave her" or "I'll forsake her" instead of derivatives of the word divorce, in order to avoid its occurrence, especially when there is no intention of divorce?

Divorce occurs with an explicit pronouncement if the husband is a responsible, willing, and uncoerced individual. It does not occur with an implicit pronouncement unless intended. Obsessive thoughts about divorce are an evil that should be overcome by seeking Allah's help and through abundant supplication.
