Did Solomon, peace be upon him, inherit horses from his father David, peace be upon him, especially considering what Muqatil and Ibn Atiyyah said, while taking into account the Hadith: "We do not inherit; what we leave behind is charity"?

The intended meaning of Solomon inheriting from David (peace be upon them both) is the inheritance of knowledge, kingship, and prophethood, not the inheritance of wealth. This is supported by the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "We, the community of Prophets, do not leave an inheritance; what we leave behind is charity." As for the inheritance of horses, some exegetes have suggested that Solomon inherited a thousand horses from his father, but this opinion is weak because it contradicts the established principle that Prophets do not bequeath wealth.
