Does supplication change destiny regarding death?

Life, like sustenance, is preordained. However, supplication has an effect on prolonging life, and it is part of the written destiny. Allah's decree is of two types: an immutable, eternal decree that does not change, and a suspended decree that changes with supplication. But Allah knows eternally whether a person will supplicate or not.
