Does insulting the Companions or religious scholars expel one from the faith and necessitate performing ghusl and uttering the Two Testimonies?

Speaking about scholars is not like speaking about common people, because it is an aspersion on the Sharia (definition) they carry, and a cause for people to lose trust in them. By insulting scholars, the Sharia they uphold is debased. However, insulting individual scholars does not reach the level of disbelief, unless the insult is directed at them because of the religious and Sharia knowledge they possess. This would be a hatred and slander of the Sharia, and it would nullify one's deeds. As for the matter of uttering the two testimonies (Shahadatain) and performing ghusl (definition) (ritual bath), this becomes necessary if we rule him to be a disbeliever and to have apostatized, though there is a difference of opinion among scholars regarding the obligation of ghusl for an apostate and an original disbeliever upon embracing Islam.
