What is the ruling on undergoing a cosmetic surgery procedure for the lips to get rid of large lower lips that cause ridicule from friends and some family members?

It is permissible to undergo a cosmetic procedure for the lip if its deformity reaches an abnormal extent, in order to restore it to its natural state. Otherwise, it is not permissible, as it involves altering Allah's creation without necessity.
