Is sending sacrificial animals to be slaughtered outside the country in which the sacrificer resides (for example, to Iraq) considered a legitimate sacrifice (udhiyah) or merely charity? And is it a condition that the slaughter takes place in the same country in which the sacrificer resides?

It is preferable for a Muslim to perform the sacrifice in their own country and to slaughter the animal themselves, following the example of the Prophet (peace be upon him) who slaughtered his sacrificial animal with his own hand. However, it is permissible to send the sacrificial animal to another country if there is an overriding benefit in doing so, and it is still valid for them as long as they intended it as a sacrifice.
