What is the ruling on praying behind an Imam who only attends for Friday prayers, delivers the sermon, but does not attend the other prayers, and talks about the achievements of the state?

If the Imam is tasked only with delivering the Friday sermon, then there is no harm in him performing congregational prayers at another mosque, and he is not considered to have abandoned the congregation. However, if he is a regular Imam at the mosque and intentionally misses congregational prayers, or if he utters prohibited words or engages in unlawful actions such as lying or praising someone who should not be praised, then it is disliked to pray behind him, and it is preferable to follow another Imam who is characterized by knowledge and piety.
