Is it permissible to use temporary fillers for facial lines, smile lines, and lips to overcome the effects of aging and the emaciation resulting from significant weight loss?
It is permissible to inject with the aforementioned substance if it is to remove an emergent pathological defect, but it is not permissible if it is to remove the usual signs of aging or merely for the sake of seeking beauty. The resolution of the Islamic Fiqh Academy states that it is not permissible to remove wrinkles by surgery or injection unless it is a pathological condition, provided that there is no harm. Dr. Salih al-Fawzan mentioned that the ruling on removing wrinkles varies depending on the reasons for the procedure. It is permissible to remove them if their occurrence is unusual due to diseases or external factors, or if they appear in an unaccustomed form. However, if their occurrence is in the usual manner, such as in the elderly, then the ruling is prohibition.
