What is the ruling on a woman aborting in the third month, given that she bears responsibility for her family and has undergone two previous operations, and what is the expiation for that?

Abortion is always forbidden, whether before or after the insufflation of the soul, unless the pregnancy poses a real danger to the mother's life, and this is confirmed by a trustworthy doctor. Expecting harm or fearing hardship does not permit abortion. Whoever aborts without a valid reason must repent to Allah, and a ghurrah is required of her; if that is not possible, then a tenth of its blood money (diyah).
