When Jurhum caused sacrilege in the , and belittled the rituals, and some of them transgressed against others, the water of Zamzam receded and disappeared. Then Al-Harith ibn Madhadh al-Asghar buried whatever wealth of the Kaaba he possessed within it. It remained buried until Abd al-Muttalib came. He saw in his dream someone commanding him to dig it and guiding him to its location, so he dug it.
